About The Position

The Research Specialist will be responsible for the generation and maintenance of a large set of mouse recombinant inbred lines known collectively as the Collaborative Cross. This position will be responsible for both animal breeding and accurate record keeping of all aspects of this project, and for collecting and analyzing data for accuracy, validity, and integrity. This position will contribute to the preparation of publications and/or reports, including making presentations within the department and at professional conferences when necessary. Additionally, the Research Specialist may participate in the preparation of competitive grants from government and private agencies to enhance the infrastructure of the UNC School of Medicine and the UNC-CH campus.

Requirements

• Experience with mouse recombinant inbred lines.
• Proficiency in animal breeding.
• Strong record-keeping skills.

• Presentation skills.
• Grant preparation experience.
