The Emory Vaccine Center within the Emory National Primate Research Center at Emory University is currently seeking a full-time Research Specialist to join our team. This is a Grant Funded/Limited Time opportunity to complete a project that has an anticipated end date of May 31, 2028. Our research consists of analysis of human and murine cellular immune responses to Mycobacterial infection. The Research Specialist will conduct immunological assays to measure innate and adaptive immune responses to infection in blood and lung tissue samples. They will be responsible for conducting immunology and microbiology experiments, data analysis, quality assurance, maintaining laboratory environment and supplies, participating in lab meetings and journal clubs, and record keeping. They will assist with planning and scheduling research procedures. Record results of studies, compile and analyze data, and prepare charts and graphs. Review literature for related research, develop techniques, and compile findings. Analyze and interpret results of studies with support from the Principal Investigator (PI). The ideal candidate should be motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, have a positive attitude, and passion for research. The research specialist will be a team player who is willing to learn on the job and collaborate with lab team members. The Research Specialist will work to ensure the highest quality of laboratory research support, have good communication skills with team members, the PI, and other support personnel. The candidate will receive lab-specific and assay-specific training from the PI and team members. They will serve in a support role while working towards independence in the lab.
