About The Position

The successful candidate will provide research expertise and be highly organized, assisting in the conduct of pediatric research studies. Responsibilities include scheduling experiments, study organization (including IACUC and IRB submissions and communication), and data collection. The candidate will collaborate closely with research investigators and staff, including clinicians, engineers, residents, and students, and will perform designated research activities independently according to research protocols.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting.
  • Ability to perform job functions in an upright position (Frequent).

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science may be substituted for the two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with experimental data collections involving complex pediatric research paradigms, including the collection of behavioral and health data.
  • Collect samples, perform sample analyses, and extract measurement data from experiments.
  • Coordinate research projects from inception through completion to ensure regulatory compliance, accurate performance of research protocols, and collection of data.
  • Assist with the maintenance of study organization, including data entry and data storage through both document hard copies and electronically.
  • Organize, write, and renew animal (IACUC) and human (IRB) protocols, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining communication with the institutional IACUC and IRB.
  • Procure, prepare, and use equipment and other supplies for experiments done in the laboratory.
  • Design and assist in the design of experimental research protocols to assist investigators in their research studies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
