About The Position

The employee's primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge, defined as work which is predominantly intellectual in character and which includes work requiring the consistent exercise of discretion and judgment; The advanced knowledge is in the field of science; and The advanced knowledge has been customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction. Provides, under direct supervision, support for specified research projects; researches, assesses, and clarifies data and distributes information. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in Life Sciences Preferred and 2 years relevant experience in a laboratory setting or
  • Master's Degree Preferred and 1-2 years experience 1 year relevant experience in a laboratory setting

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and operates equipment in experimental procedures, including but not limited to centrifuges, pH meters, PCR equipment, spectrophotometer, autoclave, microscopes, flow cytometry, and electrophoresis equipment. Prepares and maintains lab stock solutions and reagents.
  • With minimal supervision, may prepare human and animal tissues and cells for analysis, run experiments and assays, including microscopy and tissue culture, maintain tissue and cell cultures and record laboratory data and observations, including statistical analysis and generation of figures and histograms.
  • Maintains inventories, performs minor repairs, maintains sterile conditions as required and cleans equipment.
  • Follows protocols commensurate with need relative to combustible, toxic, infectious or carcinogenic products used in experiments.
  • Performs other duties assigned.
