About The Position

The scale of influence of hydrological and thermal conditions on disease remains uncertain for most wild plant pathosystems, thus restricting our ability to predict the impacts of climate change. Work structured around the field system on flax-rust at RMBL broke new ground in revealing the nuance of drivers including the effect of drought in reducing the spread of a rust pathogen. This person will steer continuation of this work, which will involve exploring how drought might affect the global distribution of rust pathogens using a blend of modeling, literature review, and statistical analysis.
