The Service Desk Support Technician is an on-site role embedded within the Research Desktop team, providing Tier 1 technical support to the Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) user community through established support channels (primarily phone and user-submitted tickets). Ranging from remote software installs to basic software/OS troubleshooting and ticket triage (creation and routing), this position serves as a crucial first line of defense—resolving common issues efficiently at first contact while shielding Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams. This position is 100% on-site. We believe great support is about building real relationships, not just rushing through tickets. As we bring our Research Service Desk in-house, we’re looking for friendly, tech-curious people who are eager to learn and ready to help. You don't need years of IT experience to thrive here—our close-knit, on-site desktop team will mentor and support you every step of the way. You’ll get to be the trusted first point of contact for our scientific community, learning hands-on while knowing your work directly supports life-saving research. If you love solving problems, helping others, and want a supportive team to grow with, this is the perfect place to start.
