Research Senior Technician
About The Position
A Research Technician 3 position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Nandini Acharya within the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. The laboratory studies interactions between the nervous and immune systems in cancer and investigates mechanisms that influence tumor development, progression, metastasis, and anti-tumor immunity. The successful candidate will provide entry-level research support and assist with laboratory operations, animal studies, sample processing, data collection, and basic molecular and cellular biology techniques under the supervision of senior laboratory personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- Alternatively 4 years relevant experience with HS diploma
- Alternatively 2 years relevant experience with Associate's degree
- Alternatively 0 years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree
- Coursework in biology, neuroscience, immunology, or a related field preferred
- Must be able to learn new techniques
- Must be able to maintain accurate records
- Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative research environment
Nice To Haves
- Previous laboratory experience is helpful but not required
