About The Position

The Research Senior Associate will function as a specialist or technical expert in molecular biology and organoid research within the Comprehensive Cancer Center at The Ohio State University. This role involves collaborating with the Principal Investigator (PI) to develop, manage, and implement research projects, design and conduct complex experiments using cell lines and organoid models, and perform advanced molecular biological and biochemical procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required with Master's Degree.
  • 3 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Principal Investigator (PI) to develop, manage and implement research projects.
  • Design and conduct complex experiments utilizing cell lines and organoid models.
  • Plan and execute advanced molecular biological and biochemical procedures such as cell and organoid culture, realtime PCR, immunofluorescence, immunoblot, ELISA, and cloning techniques.
  • Analyze and evaluate experimental data.
  • Develop and implement new or revised research methods.
  • Assist PI in research & development efforts of new research projects.
  • Plan and write abstracts and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
  • Attend and present research results at national scientific conferences and workshops.
  • Actively contribute to developing, writing, editing and critiquing research grant proposals.
  • Oversee appropriate maintenance of laboratory equipment and purchasing of reagents.
  • Implement laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Manual and ensure compliance to local, state and federal laboratory guidelines.
