About The Position

Research Senior Associate who designs, executes and manages research projects investigating the biology and treatment of impulsive aggression in human study participants in the Clinical Neuroscience & Psychopharmacology Unit (CNPRU) in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health; collaborates with Emil Coccaro, M.D. (Principal Investigator) to develop and implement goals and objectives of studies; conceptualizes, designs and executes moderately behavioral laboratory experiments; plans, coordinates and oversees processing and analysis of data; analyzes and interprets research data; plans and tests experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods; performs critical analysis of literature relevant to research; collaborates with principal investigator to write and prepare research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and conferences and workshops, and in the writing of project reports, articles and other documents; attends and presents research results at national and international scientific conferences, workshops and seminars; assists with development, writing and preparation of grant proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding in support of research.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 year of relevant experience required with Master's Degree
  • Requires successful completion of a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Level Degree and five years of relevant experience in research in human aggression is preferred.
  • A doctoral degree in clinical psychology, however, is most desirable as is at least five years of experience in working with behavioral laboratory paradigms of aggression (e.g., Taylor Aggression Paradigm).
