A full-time research senior associate (1.0 FTE) position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Joshua Casaos, Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery. The lab focuses on investigating targetable pathways at the epigenetic and metabolic level in brain tumors, including meningioma and glioma. Techniques and work include: cell culture, protein work, PCR, histology/IHC, multiplex, spatial sequencing, bioinformatics, and animal work. The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment, while being expected to be a self-motivated investigator who can manage their time efficiently. The position will be responsible for design, execution, and management of research projects as well as assisting in the preparation of grant proposals, research manuscripts, and preparation of presentations at national and international conference/workshops. Must be able to work independently to carry out experiments and learn new techniques/protocols. The candidate will assume management and leadership roles within the laboratory, in particular overseeing purchases and expenditures, onboarding/training of research personnel on equipment and safety protocols, management of mouse colony, and oversight and provision of scientific guidance and technical expertise to undergraduate students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellow, and staff.
