This role is for a Research Scientist in the Lott Lab, supporting a sponsoring research program. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requirements

  • Doctoral level degree.
  • A minimum of 6 years of postdoctoral research training at Mayo or elsewhere.
  • Must hold academic rank (i.e. Instructor, Assistant Professor) at Mayo at the time of accepting the Research Scientist position or achieve it immediately thereafter.
  • Must bring a unique skill, technique, or knowledge to the sponsoring program as documented by professional accomplishments and publication record.
  • Must have made a career decision to pursue regular employment at Mayo in support of an established research staff program.
  • This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship. We will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position.
  • Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key supporting role in the sponsoring research program.
  • Significantly contribute to grant writing and serve as co-principal investigator on extramural grant applications.
  • Apply as co-investigator or co-principal investigator for extramural grants or contracts in collaboration with the Mayo sponsor.
  • Serve as the principal investigator's internal and external representative and resource contact person for the research program.
  • Represent the principal investigator at national or international meetings if necessary.
  • Bring a unique skill, technique, or knowledge to the program.
  • Significantly participate in personnel and resource management on behalf of the principal investigator.
  • Independently manage assigned projects and the projects of other program personnel.
  • Provide input for the direction and design of other's projects.
  • Direct teaching activities within the investigator's program.
