About The Position
The Research Scientist will advance business priorities by delivering high-impact work in their area of expertise at KLA’s Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) division. FaST develops metrology solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing, including systems that measure film thickness, critical dimensions, composition, and resistivity, and works with customers from early research and development through high-volume production. The posting does not provide further role-specific duties.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant technical discipline; preferred fields include Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in numerical methods, scientific computing, physics-based modeling, and optimization algorithms.
- Proficiency in C++ software development.
- Experience with Python for algorithm development and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Doctorate (Academic) Degree; 0 years of related work experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation and numerical solutions of field equations, including RCWA, FDTD, FEM, or related techniques.
- Experience with inverse problems, optimization, uncertainty quantification, and regression methods.
- Experience with machine learning and AI techniques.
- Experience with HPC software development, including CUDA, TensorFlow, JAX, GPU computing, and parallel processing.
- Experience in semiconductor metrology, computational imaging, optical metrology, or related fields.
