•$174,000 - $252,000

About The Position

At Google DeepMind Robotics, the Research Scientist will help integrate AI into the physical world by building foundation models, including advanced vision-language-action (VLA) models that combine Gemini’s world understanding with physical actions for direct robotic control. The work includes models such as Gemini Robotics and Gemini Robotics On-Device, which can support a broad range of tasks, interact with their environments, demonstrate dexterity, and reason over long, multi-step sequences. The role advances general-purpose robotics across areas including agentic reasoning, real-world understanding, action generalization, human-robot interaction, dexterity, whole-body control, and continual learning. The scientist will collaborate with robotics companies to deploy these capabilities across applications, work with interdisciplinary research teams, and contribute to research intended to deliver broad public benefit while prioritizing safety and ethics.
