About The Position

Under general supervision, this position designs, performs, and analyzes experiments. The Research Scientist will mentor students on analyzing and preparing data results. This role is responsible for conducting complex independent research into their field of expertise, utilizing advanced knowledge and skills granted by their education and experience to complete research projects. The scientist will analyze research data, summarize results, and write or contribute to research papers, articles, and publications. Additionally, this position will assist with grant acquisition and may support student researchers, Postdoctoral Research Associates, Assistant Research Scientists, and/or Associate Research Scientists working on related projects. The role may also involve supervising assigned staff and/or students, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• PhD in Agricultural Economics or related field
• Six years of related experience in Conflict and Development
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Must be able to work independently as part of a multidisciplinary collaborative team
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
• Analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Conducting complex independent research into their field of expertise.
• Utilizing advanced knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise.
• Analyzing research data and summarizing results.
• Writing and may contributing to research papers, articles, and publications.
• Assisting with grant acquisition.
• May assist student researchers, Postdoctoral Research Associates, Assistant Research Scientists, and/or Associate Research Scientists who are working on research related to the project.
• May supervise assigned staff and/or students.
• Other duties as assigned.
