About The Position

NVIDIA Research is seeking a recent Ph.D. graduate to work on Machine Learning Systems (MLSys). The role contributes to developing hardware, software, and infrastructure technology for ML systems of all scales. It addresses the need for efficient, scalable, resilient, and trustworthy systems for training, fine-tuning, and serving ML models, as well as the demands AI/ML applications place on personal devices and warehouse-scale data centers. The work involves co-designing and co-optimizing all layers of AI systems to maximize performance and energy efficiency, improve scalability, and support emerging algorithms. Candidates should bring research excellence, a broad perspective on systems design across the hardware/software/infrastructure stack, and depth in at least one relevant area.

Requirements

Recent graduate with a Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
Strong background in one or more of operating systems, distributed systems, inference and training systems, data management systems, networking, cloud computing, or computer architecture.
Demonstrated expertise in a specific area and ability to become a go-to resource on a team with varied backgrounds.
Background in experimental research and development.
Experience with C, C++, Python, and/or scripting languages.
Experience using AI tools for analysis, design, and code development.

Responsibilities
