About The Position

The University of North Texas Chemistry Department seeks a full-time Research Scientist III in High-Performance Computing to manage its departmental HPC facility. The role maintains computing servers and infrastructure, coordinates equipment and support-system maintenance and upgrades, and trains and supports facility users. Applicants should have a strong background in computational chemistry or a closely related area; experience managing, installing, or upgrading modern HPC facilities is strongly preferred. The position supports computational chemistry research by managing access and job queues, installing and updating software and codes, addressing user hardware and software needs, and providing technical support to research groups. It also manages billing, shares information about the computational facilities for publications and grant proposals, obtains quotes for repairs and upgrades, oversees that work, and works with users to obtain funding for facility upgrades. The work schedule varies based on assignment. No adverse environmental conditions are expected.
