About The Position

This position will be primarily located in Nutley NJ, USA. The mission is to deliver scientific analysis and support to the scientific teams. The role involves performing routine qualitative and quantitative analysis of macromolecules using various techniques, maintaining and troubleshooting instruments, developing protocols, conducting stability and activity analyses, designing and executing scientific studies, summarizing and presenting findings, assisting with due diligence and technology transfer, supporting laboratory operations, drafting SOPs and research reports, and collaborating with other teams to support R&D in protein and biopolymer process development.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master (with 3-5 year experience) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry with fundamental understanding of protein, peptide, enzyme, polysaccharides, and other biomolecules.
  • Extensive experience with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Liquid Chromatography (Reverse Phase, SEC), GC, and mass spectrometry instruments.
  • Experience with Agilent instruments and software is strongly preferred.
  • Experience of developing plate-based high-throughput assay and enzymatic study are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of metabolomics and/or proteomics pipeline (including sample preparation, LC/GC and MS operation, data analysis) and must be able to conduct independent and creative research.
  • Prior hands-on experience with multiple sample preparation techniques (extraction, SPE, derivatization, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of bioanalytical techniques (SDS PAGE, Western blotting, SEC, CD, DSC etc.) is preferred.
  • Possess good organizational, analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Effective team player, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks and deliver high quality results under tight timeline.
  • Self-motivated, passionate and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine qualitative and quantitative analysis of macromolecules using HPLC, UPLC, SEC-MALS, commercial colorimetric assays, ELISA assays, western blots, LC-MS and GC methods, among others.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot HPLC, UPLC, and SEC-MALS instruments and columns.
  • Develop protocols and prepare validation or test result reports.
  • Conduct stability and activity analyses of macromolecules.
  • Design and execute scientific studies with clear goals and deliverables.
  • Summarize and present findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with due diligence in selecting CROs and oversee technology transfer processes.
  • Support day-to-day laboratory operations.
  • Draft SOPs and research reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Cell Engineering, Process Engineering, and Bioprocessing teams to support and advance R&D in protein and biopolymer process development.
