About The Position

The Zhang Lab at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is seeking a Research Scientist 3 with expertise in proteomics and peptidomes. This individual will be responsible for developing and optimizing quantitative and qualitative proteomic, peptidomic, and immunopeptidomic assays to support research in programmable therapeutics and human health. The role involves preparing biological samples, operating and maintaining LC-MS instruments, troubleshooting workflows, and analyzing mass spectrometry data using platforms such as PEAKS, FragPipe, DIA-NN, and Skyline. The scientist will lead projects from conception to completion, contribute to experimental design and research strategy, collaborate with various teams, and mentor junior researchers.

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent training in proteomics, protein chemistry, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, or a related field.
• Expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics or peptidomics.
• Experience developing and optimizing proteomic or peptidomic assays.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting LC-MS instrumentation.
• Proficiency with PEAKS, FragPipe, DIA-NN, Skyline, or similar software.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and apply appropriate statistical methods.
• Record of scientific productivity through publications, method development, or related contributions.
• Strong experimental design, organization, documentation, and project-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with immunopeptidomics.
• Experience mentoring junior scientists.
