Research Scholar

New York University•Brooklyn, NY

About The Position

The de Lázaro Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking a Research Scholar to support research developing and testing lipid nanoparticles that deliver mRNA to different organs and tissues. The lab is a multidisciplinary group of biomedical engineers, biotechnologists, and pharmacists, and is affiliated with NYU Tandon’s Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Institute for Engineering Health, the NanoBioX Initiative, and the Cardiovascular Research Center at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health. The Research Scholar will work closely with a Postdoctoral Fellow who leads the lab’s Nanomedicine Sub-group. The position includes nanoparticle formulation and characterization, mRNA preparation and quality control, in vitro testing, assistance with mouse studies, and processing tissue samples for molecular biology and histological assays. The Research Scholar will also contribute to preliminary data for funding applications, maintain research records, train new lab members in established protocols, and present research progress at lab meetings. The position is suitable for recent graduates, people seeking additional preparation for graduate or medical school, and individuals with industry experience. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. The annual base salary is $50,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
