About The Position

The Cardiothoracic Imaging Division at the Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a highly motivated Research Scholar to join their growing academic and research team. This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in cutting-edge cardiothoracic imaging research using state-of-the-art imaging technologies, including Photon-Counting CT, Advanced Cardiac and Thoracic MRI, Artificial Intelligence applications in imaging, Quantitative imaging and post-processing, Cardiovascular and pulmonary imaging research, and Multidisciplinary translational imaging projects. The candidate will work closely with faculty, fellows, residents, and multidisciplinary clinical teams in cardiology, pulmonology, cardiothoracic surgery, and oncology.

Requirements

• MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree holders interested in academic imaging research
• Ability to perform job functions in an upright position.

Responsibilities

• Participate in clinical and translational cardiothoracic imaging research projects
• Assist with manuscript preparation, literature review, and scientific writing
• Support data collection, image analysis, and research coordination
• Participate in abstract preparation and national meeting submissions
• Assist with statistical analysis and research database management
• Collaborate with faculty on ongoing AI and advanced imaging initiatives
• Contribute to academic and educational activities within the division
