We are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter Research Project Coordinator to support research efforts in our Center for Substance Use and Infectious Disease Care Integration where we have innovative programs and partnerships with people and communities affected by substance use. Center activities focus on improving outcomes for those with Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders with a focus on prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, particularly HIV and viral hepatitis. Research involves epidemiology, qualitative and quantitative research to understand barriers and facilitators to effective care, and the development, implementation and evaluation of interventions. This individual will play a pivotal role in performing data collection, abstraction, and quality assurance across assigned studies, as well as recruiting and engaging study participants, conducting research assessments, outreach activities, and specimen collection and processing. The individual will work closely with both the Johns Hopkins study team as well as community partners such as the county health department syringe service program (SSP) teams to foster a positive collaboration between the clinical and research environments. The Research Project Coordinator administratively coordinates research protocol implementation, typically for a single study. Will ensure efficient logistical implementation of the study activities and provide administrative support for all related issues.
