The CTSI Research Programmer Analyst will oversee all phases of database design, development, management, and reporting for large and/or complicated projects within an assigned department/section. This role provides essential computer systems support, including researching, recommending, and installing new computer system hardware and software to improve departmental projects and operations. The analyst will also make necessary modifications to enhance system performance and user satisfaction. A key aspect of this position is taking a lead role in data flow analysis and the design of multi-programmer projects, potentially supervising the work of lower-level programmers. The role involves attending project and departmental meetings, contributing to project design with a focus on data management needs, and consulting with users to understand their project design requirements. Maintaining professional relationships with project and departmental personnel is crucial. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting complicated software products, as well as PC and mini-computer hardware problems. This includes implementing complex queries to databases, creating automated reporting schemes, and analyzing and developing quality control needs for large projects. Additionally, the position involves performing complex data transfers and conversions, creating and maintaining user manuals and documentation for software products, and designing and implementing comprehensive software testing plans. The role also includes creating and maintaining project and/or departmental webpages and related information, and performing other related duties incidental to the work described.
