The Division of Biostatistics is recruiting a statistician for a full-time non-tenure track faculty appointment to support clinical trials and pre-clinical/translational research in oncology. This will be a joint appointment in both the Division of Biostatistics (primary) and the Hematologic Malignancies Research Institute (HMRI) (secondary), at a rank consistent with qualifications and experience. The candidate selected for this position will report to the Director of Biostatistics and will have the opportunity to work with both physician-scientists and basic science researchers.

Requirements

Doctorate in applied biostatistics/statistics or similar field.
Experience (minimum of 1-3 years) in designing and/or analyzing clinical trials. For recent graduates, doctoral level course work may substitute for this requirement.
Excellent computing skills and a publication record documenting both self-directed and collaborative research. For recent graduates, work in progress manuscripts may substitute.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple collaborations.
Ability to write efficient programs in R

Nice To Haves

Experience in Hematology or Oncology.
Some knowledge of small animal study designs.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the HMRI’s research agenda through collaborative research resulting in presentations, publications, and grant funding.
Contribute to science through collaborative and independent research including co-authoring papers and protocols.
Serve as the statistician on preclinical/clinical studies and trial protocols.
Establish a publication and funding track record.
Develop novel statistical methodologies.
Deliver talks on the results of the research.
Maintain current knowledge of and contribute to advancements in the field through participation in professional organizations, scientific conferences, reading industry journals, and publication of manuscripts.
