Research Officer - Bioinformatics
About The Position
Join the Kwan Lab at Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute and Eastern Health Clinical School to contribute to innovative translational prostate cancer research. As a Research Officer, you will provide high-quality bioinformatics and computational research support across genomics, epigenomics, and transcriptomics datasets, helping translate complex data into meaningful research outcomes. You will develop, execute, maintain, and document reproducible bioinformatics workflows, undertaking data processing, quality control, and analysis across tumour tissue and liquid biopsy datasets. Working with researchers, clinicians, and collaborators, you will prepare high-quality analyses, reports, and research outputs while ensuring robust data management and computational standards.
Requirements
- Expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or a related discipline.
- Strong programming skills in R, Python or similar languages.
- Experience with Unix/Linux.
- Experience with high-performance computing.
- Experience with workflow tools such as Nextflow or Snakemake.
- Experience with genomic or transcriptomic analysis.
