About The Position

The Atkins Lab has an exciting opportunity for a Research Officer to join its research team and contribute to projects investigating neurodegenerative diseases, including Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Motor Neurone disease and Frontotemporal dementia. This position provides the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative research environment focused on advancing understanding of neurodegenerative conditions and supporting research that aims to improve outcomes for individuals affected by these diseases. Working alongside researchers, collaborators and other stakeholders, the Research Officer will support the delivery of research activities across the lab. The position will undertake data collection and analysis, administer experiments and questionnaires, develop data collection tools, coordinate activities, and prepare reports, presentations and research documentation, including literature reviews. The role will also maintain accurate records, contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance activities and ensure research is conducted in accordance with relevant protocols, ethical requirements and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Psychology, Health Science or another Allied Health field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education or training

  • Strong computer skills
  • Understanding of research ethics, confidentiality and privacy requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate present valid and current Australian work rights
