The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta is a leading centre for pediatric education and research in Canada. In partnership with the Stollery Children’s Hospital and community pediatrics across Northern Alberta, we provide exceptional care for children, youth, and families. Under the supervision and guidance of the Program Lead and Lead Research Coordinator, the role of the Research Nurse Coordinator (NRC) is to recruit for and coordinate research projects led by the PEAK Research Team (Pediatric Emergency: Advancing Knowledge, Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine). The Research Nurse Coordinator will screen and approach families in the Stollery Emergency Department (ED), administer study procedures and questionnaires, administer study medications as required, and complete study specific documentation. They will further coordinate and operationalize research studies which includes submitting ethics applications, training research and clinical staff, collaborating with AHS teams (research pharmacy, Stollery Emergency Department staff), ensuring the execution of contracts, managing data collection, and maintaining study documentation to ensure patient safety. This position will require a high degree of professionalism and strong communication skills to facilitate the successful recruitment of study participants.
