About The Position

Murphy Research is a full-service custom market research firm known for its innovative research design and consultative approach. They produce groundbreaking qualitative and quantitative research through their focus on creative design, rigorous execution, and enduring insights. The team thinks out of the box, follows a steady execution process, and is empowered to produce the highest quality research product that truly matters to clients. They are actively seeking a Research Manager to join the Murphy Research team. In this role, the individual will assist in the development, execution, and analysis of projects for a diverse range of Fortune 500 companies. All researchers work across industries on diverse projects with clients like, Disney, Riot Games, Hershey, and Allstate. This is an exciting opportunity to continue to grow research careers as the individual supports prominent brands with market assessment, brand strategy, product development, customer loyalty and engagement, and communications research.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of market research experience.
  • Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • B.A. or M.A. in a related field (psychology, anthropology, sociology, preferred).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while delegating to others and taking ownership over the final product.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable managing client relationships and vendor communications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated to take initiative and maintain high expectations for quality work.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Skills in SPSS, R, InDesign, Keynote.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects holistically from questionnaire design to final report writing.
  • Use discretion in decision-making to keep projects moving forward, executing each stage of the project process against project deadlines while responsible for project budget.
  • Collaborate with a team of researchers to lead study progress; manage, mentor, and train Research Associates on project teams, while also consulting with senior researchers and leadership for guidance.
  • Work with large data sets, requiring an eye for detail.
  • Utilize strong strategic thinking and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment.
