About The Position

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites a collaborative, enthusiastic, and service-oriented professional to join our Research & Learning Services (RLS) department as a Research & Learning Services Librarian. This position is a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Research & Learning Services, this position works closely with faculty, students, clinicians, and researchers to deliver high-impact instruction, research support, and scholarly engagement.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Experience in an academic health sciences library setting.
• Demonstrated experience in providing research support services (e.g., literature searching, systematic reviews, data management, citation management).
• Experience in developing and delivering instructional sessions on information literacy, research methods, or library resources.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse user groups including faculty, students, clinicians, and researchers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with evidence-based practice resources and instruction.
• Knowledge of scholarly communication issues, including open access and research impact metrics.
• Familiarity with health sciences databases and resources.
• Experience with emerging technologies and their application in library services.
