The Research Technician will support ongoing studies focused on developing genetic and molecular therapies for hereditary neurological disorders, including DYT1 dystonia. The position will involve assisting with studies that use gene editing technologies, patient-derived cellular models, and both viral and non-viral delivery platforms to investigate therapeutic correction of disease-causing mutations. The technician will perform routine and experimental laboratory procedures, including mammalian cell culture, maintenance of patient-derived cell lines, preparation of reagents and samples, and organization of experimental data. Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, organizing and preparing samples, conducting experiments, and recording and analyzing data. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.
