The technician will work under the supervision of Prof. Kwon and a senior data scientist to analyze multi-omics data from large, well-characterized patient cohorts in the US and sub-Saharan Africa to understand how microbial communities influence mucosal immunity, epithelial barrier function, inflammation, and susceptibility to infection. Responsibilities include analyzing microbiome sequencing data (including 16S rRNA and shotgun metagenomics), metabolomics/transcriptomics data, developing and maintaining bioinformatic workflows, generating data visualizations, and supporting researchers in computational analysis. This position offers an opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment focused on developing new therapeutic strategies to improve global health outcomes.
