The Kleinstiver Laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a motivated candidate to join their research group. This group focuses on engineering and optimizing genome editing technologies for biomedical research and treating human diseases. They work with various genome editing tools, including CRISPR-Cas enzymes, base editors, prime editors, and others, aiming to improve their efficiency, safety, versatility, and precision. The optimized tools are then tested in pre-clinical studies using animal models and human cells to assess their potential for correcting genetic mutations in diseases affecting the liver, immune system, nervous system, and hearing. The candidate will be instrumental in managing the laboratory and projects related to genome editing technology development, protein engineering, and accelerating the clinical application of these tools. Ideal candidates will have interests in genome engineering, technology development, and the creation of genetic medicines.
