The Research Lab Manager oversees the personnel, operations, and research administration of the Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Harvard Medical School. The laboratory studies neural circuits and mechanisms underlying sensory processing, learning, and plasticity, using advanced imaging, electrophysiology, molecular and anatomical methods, and behavioral studies in mice. The manager works closely with the Principal Investigator, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, research assistants, and collaborators in a highly collaborative research environment. The role coordinates day-to-day laboratory operations and experimental workflows across federally funded research projects; manages project needs, timelines, resources, and priorities; and anticipates needs and resolves logistical challenges. The manager helps oversee transgenic mouse lines, laboratory supplies, equipment, protocols, and shared research resources; trains and supports laboratory members; and may contribute to scientific literature and present data at meetings. Experimental support may include mouse surgeries, histology, tissue processing, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, anatomical tracing, and image analysis. The position also oversees laboratory funds and staff activities, coordinates regulatory and compliance activities, and serves as the laboratory safety officer.
