About The Position

This is a temporary part-time Internship position working 20hr/wk, with some flexibility on start and end time. This opportunity is open to Graduate level students pursuing degrees in Public Health. Banner University Medical Group is our nonprofit faculty practice plan associated with the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine in Phoenix and Tucson. Our 1,100-plus clinicians provide primary and specialty care to patients at highly ranked Banner - University Medical Centers and dozens of clinics while providing mentorship to more than 1,200 residents and fellows. Our practice values and encourages the three-part mission of academic medicine: research, education and excellent patient care. POSITION SUMMARY This position typically will be up to one year in length and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with course work related to the internship or general knowledge normally obtained through the completion of a college degree.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.
  • Enrolled in a Graduate Program OR recent graduate within the last 6 months
  • Located within Arizona, or Colorado

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
  • Experience with QI and research projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.
  • Participates on work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.
  • Performs research and prepares reports on assigned topics and /or projects when required.
  • Works as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers.
