About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting experimental testing and analysis related to UV/VUV reactor performance, including operating lab equipment, collecting and managing samples, performing chemical analyses, and organizing experimental data. The role contributes to the development of clean, traceable datasets and supports the analysis of treatment performance trends, correlations, and contaminant kinetics to help inform process understanding and predictive modeling.

Requirements

  • Engineering knowledge through education or experience
  • Creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Data management and analysis skills
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and has reliable transportation to get to facility
  • Strong data management skills with a methodical approach to structuring and organizing large sets of experimental results.
  • Analytical problem-solving mindset, with the ability to interpret graphs and numerical data to derive functional models.
  • Capability to work in a lab-environment, operating experimental apparatus and analytical instruments.
  • Ability to learn new technical skills.
  • Ability to manage time for efficient workflow and to maximize output.
  • Ability to critically review procedures and suggest improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Laboratory experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and conduct experimental trials on a UV/VUV reactor to evaluate the removal efficiency of specific compounds.
  • Collect and handle samples during testing phases, ensuring proper traceability and sample integrity.
  • Perform instrumental chemical analyses using HPLC techniques, as well as measure key process parameters including total and free chlorine.
  • Organize and structure experimental data into Excel spreadsheets, creating clean, well-organized, and traceable databases from raw outputs.
  • Analyze collected datasets to identify trends, correlations, and develop a predictive model for contaminant kinetics.
  • The associate may be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
  • All associates are expected to contribute to a safe workplace by following established policies, identifying risks, and supporting continuous improvement.
