About The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary team advancing the development and application of deep learning in cardiovascular radiology. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, computer vision, cardiology, and radiology. The project focuses on developing and applying innovative deep learning methods—including segmentation algorithms, large language models (LLMs), and multimodal deep learning approaches—to improve image-based assessment of cardiovascular structure and disease. The emphasis will be on the development of trustworthy AI models to facilitate their clinical translation.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field
- Strong background in medical image analysis and deep learning demonstrated by a publication track-record is required
- Proficiency in Phyton and major machine learning frameworks is required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Highly motivated and independent
- Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in cardiovascular image analysis is an advantage
- Clinical experience or educational background is desirable but not required
