About The Position

The laboratory of Dr. Elina Jerschow in the Division of Allergic Diseases at Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our translational research program in allergy and immunology. A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

Requirements

Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant to the research program.
Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience in flow cytometry.
Completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.

Nice To Haves

Strong hands-on experience and demonstrated proficiency in flow cytometry, including multicolor flow cytometry, sample preparation, staining, data acquisition, and analysis.
Experience with human translational research or wet-lab studies using human biospecimens.
Strong flow cytometry and immunology experience from other experimental systems.
Additional experience with cellular and molecular immunology techniques.

Responsibilities

Train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator.
Demonstrate potential for research as evidenced by training and peer-reviewed publications.
Become competitive for national research grants.
