About The Position

Working with the Assistant Dean for Research, this role provides extensive operational support for several nomination committees that are managed by the Office of Research and works across departments, institutes, and centers at the College to coordinate several symposia and faculty award programs. Additionally, this role coordinates the logistics of an inter-departmental basic science faculty recruitment process and works closely with faculty to serve as a liaison with external institutions and to provide support with bolstering nomination packages to maximize the potential for success.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD preferred.
  • General knowledge of the grants mangement process is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages several nominating committees (for various research related awards and funding opportunities): coordinates meetings and communicates and works with faculty members to assist in the preparation of nomination packages, funding or award opportunities
  • Maintains award outcomes and tracks success rate for awards managed by the Office of Research.
  • Manages symposia and coordinates visits, including coordinating travel arrangements, advertising the visit to the Weill Cornell community, preparing itineraries, processing reimbursements and collecting feedback from Weill Cornell faculty.
  • Assists in drafting, reviewing and editing (non-technical) documents related to nomination packages and award/funding opportunities to develop compelling application and maximize potential for successful packages.
  • Works directly with faculty and others to collect application/nomination materials, serves as intermediary between external members of the WCM community and nominees to facilitate completion of nomination package and/or award/funding opportunity.
  • Provides related support to leadership in the Office of Research as needed.
