About The Position

Perform research experiments and assist in mouse colony management. This is an initial one-year assignment with potential for renewal based on performance, research progress, and funding continuation. The role involves conducting experiments for ion channel function, collaborating with lab personnel, assisting with mouse colony management, and training others in lab techniques. Responsibilities also include reading scientific literature, contributing to manuscripts, attending seminars, and presenting research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or related field
  • Experience with mouse handling and behavioral assays
  • Experience with genotyping and PCR
  • At least two years of wet lab experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with patch clamp electrophysiology

Responsibilities

  • Perform experiments relating to electrophysiological and biochemical assays measuring ion channel function.
  • Collaborate with other lab personnel on projects.
  • Assistance in mouse colony management and training of other lab personnel in lab techniques and mouse colony management as needed.
  • Reading scientific literature, writing parts of manuscripts, attendance of seminars/lab meetings, presenting research at internal and external conferences.
