Requirements

  • Graduation from a technical college or institute and a minimum two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, preferably from a Canadian university
  • At least two years of research experience in ceramic coatings, plasma spray processes, or ceramic composite materials

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory research on metallic and ceramic environmental barrier coatings (EBCs) applied to ceramic matrix composites using plasma spray technology
  • Perform literature review
  • Design experiments
  • Process EBCs
  • Conduct mechanical and thermal testing
  • Perform metallurgical and microstructural characterization using optical and electron microscopy techniques
  • Interact regularly with industrial collaborators
  • Provide written and verbal project reporting
