Ford Motor Company is seeking a Corrosion Engineer/Scientist to join the Coatings and Surfaces Research team within the Materials, Processing, Structures and Safety Department of Ford's Research and Advanced Engineering organization. This team focuses on understanding coatings and surfaces on and created during vehicle manufacturing through experimental and simulation research, investigating coating-surface interactions and their behavior in the in-service environment. The role requires expertise in corrosion mechanisms, prediction, testing, and avoidance strategies for complex structures and automotive systems, with a specific emphasis on corrosion protection for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), including battery enclosures, high-voltage components, and battery electrodes. The position involves close collaboration with various internal teams such as Product Development, Vehicle Evaluation and Verification, Analytical Engineering, Manufacturing, Joining, Structures, Metals, and Universal Electrical Vehicle (UEV) Development Research Groups.
