About The Position

We are seeking a Research & Development Engineering Co-op to join our Power & Water Solutions business in Cranberry Township, PA. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy learning and teaching, and are curious about applying technology to make a meaningful impact on customers. The co-op will be part of our Technology team, participating in all aspects of the research and development lifecycle. You will gain hands-on experience and on-the-job training, supported by senior engineers and mentorship. Power & Water Solutions (PWS) is a leader in controls automation, serving the renewable (solar, hydro, wind), fossil fuel power generation, and water treatment plant sectors. We specialize in upgrading existing plant control systems with advanced automation controls and instrumentation to enhance the sustainability and longevity of North American power grids and wastewater infrastructure. In this position, you will contribute to and learn about the latest software and hardware platforms, including virtualization, simulation, and remote support technologies, delivering customized and efficient solutions. Our co-op program offers exposure to various development areas, allowing individuals to grow in their areas of interest, with mentorship from senior engineers. Co-ops can even take the lead in introducing new technologies. Learning collaboratively is key to delivering excellent solutions and enhancing team capabilities. We are looking for a co-op who can engage in all project facets.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Ability to work on-site in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Travel up to 5%
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Responsibilities

  • Be paired with senior engineers to provide you with mentorship and training
  • Collaborate with other co-ops on certain cross-functional projects
  • Complete 3 on-site rotations as a co-op engineer. Our co-op program runs one semester on, one semester off.
