HP's Specialty Printing and Technology Solutions (SPTS) business unit focuses on leveraging HP's printing technology assets for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in various markets, including Product Identification, Labels, Transactions, Postage, Mail Addressing, and Life Sciences. The SPTS Engineering Organization develops high-ROI solutions such as specialty inks, printheads, enablers, and full imaging solutions tailored to these markets. A significant new venture is the SPTS Life Science Dispense business, which develops and markets dispensing products utilizing HP's inkjet printing technology. This specific role is for a Mechanical Engineering (ME) design engineer within a core group focused on developing new, disruptive technology and products. The position encompasses product layout, component/subsystem design, early prototyping, development of assembly tools and methods, and scaling designs into production-ready solutions through established product development processes. The work environment is dynamic, fast-paced, lean, and collaborative, with potential for evolving needs. The engineer may lead technical work direction for product design, test tools, or assembly tooling, including defining technical metrics and specifications, assigning work to supporting engineers, developing and tracking technical milestones, and facilitating integration across internal teams and external ODM partners. Responsibilities include driving issue resolution and providing regular status updates to senior stakeholders.
