About The Position

The Research & Development Engineer I innovates, designs, and develops products, processes, and solutions through research and development. The role turns ideas into viable products or systems by applying creativity, engineering knowledge, and practical technical skills. This is a six-month temporary onsite assignment in San Jose, California.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including creative thinking.
• A solid foundation in engineering principles and the ability to apply them innovatively.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
• Hands-on experience with process simulations and design experiments.
• Project management abilities from conception to delivery, including time management and prioritization.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with departments and stakeholders.
• 0–2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze customer needs, market trends, and technology advancements to propose product research and development projects.
• Plan and execute experimental test programs to evaluate materials, processes, and prototype models.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and marketing teams to assess the feasibility, cost implications, and market potential of new products.
• Document each phase of the R&D process and record findings for patent applications and regulatory compliance.
• Use engineering software to simulate, model, and visualize designs, and improve them based on test results.
• Stay current with industry standards and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge and meet regulatory demands.
