Research Data Manager

Axle•Bethesda, MD

About The Position

Axle is a bioscience and information technology company focused on translational research, biomedical informatics, and data science. The Research Data Manager will build and maintain data infrastructure for the SOM Center, including its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), document and repository platforms such as Invenio, and connected metadata databases and pipelines. The role integrates instrument, assay, and analysis data to make it findable, traceable, and reusable in alignment with NIH data management and sharing requirements. It combines hands-on software development with data stewardship and uses cloud-native tooling and AI/ML to improve data discovery and use. The position also evaluates data-management tools and standards, prepares technical assessments for IDSS leadership, trains laboratory and analytical staff, and develops standard operating procedures and technical documentation. Axle states its commitment to equal employment opportunity and provides an accommodation contact at [email protected].
