Requirements

  • Master’s degree in health sciences, social sciences, public health, psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience supporting applied research, evaluation, or research grant-funded projects
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or supporting literature reviews and evidence synthesis
  • Experience with mixed-methods research, including qualitative and/or quantitative data collection and analysis
  • Experience with research coordination, project management, or research administration
  • Experience supporting research contracts, agreements, administrative processes, funder reporting, and applied knowledge translation activities
  • Familiarity with research ethics processes (REB/IRB submissions and ongoing oversight)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in collaborative, multidisciplinary, and fast-paced environments

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., health sciences, psychology, public health, social sciences, data science) is an asset
  • Familiarity with statistical and qualitative analysis software (e.g., R, Stata, NVivo) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day delivery of applied research and evaluation activities, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables (e.g., data collection, analysis phases, reporting outputs)
  • Conduct and support literature reviews, evidence scans, and synthesis to inform research design, implementation, and knowledge translation activities
  • Support the design and execution of mixed-methods research, including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups, co-design sessions) with attention to representation, inclusion, and access-related considerations across diverse populations.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions, amendments, and ongoing compliance documentation
  • Assist with research administration, including coordination of agreements, documentation, and schedules with internal and external partners
  • Liaise with academic, clinical, community, and technical partners to support smooth execution of research activities
  • Support preparation of funder reports, internal briefings, and research documentation required for governance and audit purposes
  • Contribute to knowledge translation outputs including translating applied research and evaluation findings into clear, accessible insights (including reports, presentations, manuscripts and plain-language summaries) to inform implementation, service evolution, and quality improvement.
  • Provide flexible research coordination and operational support across other Applied Research initiatives and other departments, as needed
