Part-time Research Coordinator

About The Position

The Exercise Psychology Laboratory (Director, Dr. Neha P. Gothe) at the Institute for Cognitive & Brain Health is seeking a part-time Research Coordinator. The Research Coordinator will support a wide range of research projects focused on promoting healthy lifestyle interventions across the lifespan. These include a focus on mind-body interventions of physical activity and nutrition incorporating mindfulness and yoga and their impact on physiological and psychological health outcomes. This position may serve as a launching pad to graduate and professional (e.g. medical school) studies.

Requirements

  • Experience conducting human subjects research
  • Collecting and organizing data, conducting statistical analyses, and coding in computer languages (SPSS, R, etc.)
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite and research databases such as RedCap.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and dependable.
  • Ability to work and troubleshoot independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and skills are normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS in a Health-related field) and at least one year experience in a lab environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A master's degree (MA/MS) is desirable but not required.
  • A yoga teacher training certification is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Composing and modifying review board protocols.
  • Developing and posting advertisements (flyers, writing ads) for research participant recruitment.
  • Contacting, screening, and scheduling potential research participants.
  • Maintaining a secure recruitment database (RedCap, etc.).
  • Conducting research study visits.
  • Computer coding tasks and analyses (R, MatLab, Python, etc.).
  • Literature review and scientific products.
  • Developing relationships within the greater Boston community to recruit participants.
  • Developing outreach activities and workshops to recruit study participants.
  • Explaining complex scientific constructs to relevant audiences.
  • Summarizing empirical research papers for the public for online publication (e.g., blog posts, newsletters).
  • Leveraging social media for the lab projects and dissemination.
  • Design and lead group discussion and physical activity classes for participants to build community.
