About The Position

The Cizik School of Nursing is seeking a passionate and community-centered Research Coordinator II to support a mixed-methods study focused on the lived experiences and treatment outcomes of first-generation migrants living with HIV in Houston. This role will collaborate closely with a small, research team, including the Principal Investigator and research staff, and partner with community organizations and a Community Advisory Board to ensure culturally responsive, participant-centered research practices. The position involves coordinating study activities, supporting participant recruitment and engagement, managing data collection, and contributing to qualitative and participatory research activities such as narrative interviews and body mapping. Experience in HIV-related research, community-engaged research, and qualitative methods is highly encouraged.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with human subjects research activities, including participant recruitment, informed consent, data collection through surveys, interviews, and observations, and ensuring that all activities are conducted according to study protocols.
  • Maintain confidential records of collected data, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of data, which may include human subject data and departmental programmatic data. Support Data Management Sharing (DMS) plan.
  • Prepare annual progress reports and applications for various committees and ensure that all staff have received the proper training/attended the appropriate training courses.
  • Assist in the preparation of progress and annual reports, contracts, and grant proposals to various funding agencies; work closely with the Office of Sponsored Projects on the submission of grants.
  • May assist with regulatory submissions (i.e. Institutional Review Board(s), FDA, etc).
  • Assist investigator with quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including statistical tests and the creation of figures, tables, and graphs. Help prepare research papers, presentations, and reports including manuscripts for publications and conferences.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and review re-budgeting needs and expenditures. Attend research-planning meetings to assist in preparing budget drafts for departmental leadership approval. Assist with invoicing.
  • Coordinate and respond to site monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.
  • May be responsible for maintaining study materials (i.e. test kits, investigational drugs and devices).
  • May provide administrative direction, training, and guidance to study personnel within the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
