Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, patient care is world class and caregivers are family. Here, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team, receive endless support and appreciation, and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world. As Research Coordinator I, your role is crucial in enrolling patients into clinical trials, conducting study visits and collecting questionnaires with important study-related information. The Dasarathy Lab leads a comprehensive clinical, translational, and fundamental research program focused on skeletal muscle metabolic responses in chronic diseases, including chronic liver disease. Muscle loss is a major complication in these conditions, and the team has identified unique cellular stress responses driven by hyperammonemia, hypoxia, and ethanol exposure that disrupt translational regulation, impair subcellular organelles, and promote accelerated cellular senescence. Using advanced metabolic and molecular methods, multiomics analyses, genome association studies, and diverse cellular, rodent, and human disease models, the lab investigates the mechanisms that govern metabolic plasticity. Their findings provide a foundation for developing mechanism-based therapies to restore protein homeostasis and correct metabolic disturbances in chronic diseases.
