The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Coordinator 1 to join their team. This position will primarily support a study on substance use screening and diagnosis in Washington prisons but may provide coordination support across other projects. The Research Coordinator’s responsibility will involve traveling to prisons in western Washington to enroll participants in a study about alcohol and substance use, screening potential participants for enrollment, completing consent processes with potential participants, and administering the data collection tool, which includes a portion that is interviewer-administered. The Research Coordinator will also support the coordination of this study and other studies that Dr. Jack’s team is conducting in Washington prisons, assisting with maintaining study records, supporting the development of standard operating procedures and protocols, and working with other team members to ensure that the study runs smoothly. This position is based in the greater Olympia area and is a hybrid position. Approximately 80% of job responsibilities (up to 4 days/week) will be spent collecting data at prisons in Shelton, Washington (approximately 2/3 of data collection days) and Gig Harbor, Washington (approximately 1/3 of data collection days) in-person. Additional job responsibilities can be conducted remotely with occasional in-person meetings with the full study team in Seattle.
