About The Position

The Gene Editing Core is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support and advance gene editing services for investigators across basic, translational, and cancer research programs. This position plays a critical role in designing, executing, and validating CRISPR-based genome engineering approaches, as well as in delivering high-quality, reproducible reagents and engineered cell models to a diverse research community. The Research Associate will work closely with Gene Editing Core leadership and staff to provide consultation, experimental support, and technical expertise, while contributing to the ongoing development, optimization, and documentation of core services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree, or 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong familiarity with CRISPR/Cas-based gene editing technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a service-oriented research environment.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a shared resource, core facility, or service-based research environment.
  • Experience generating and validating stable or transgenic cell lines.
  • Familiarity with live cell imaging platforms (e.g., Incucyte), fluorescence based assays (e.g., TECAN plate readers), and flow cytometry or cell sorting technologies.
  • Experience with viral vector production or delivery methods (lentiviral, transposase-based systems).
  • Knowledge of quality control practices and reproducibility standards in biomedical research.
